In addition, the Gold Coast Tweed Camper and Caravan Hire, based in Tweed Heads, also received Trade Bronze Gumnut Award for the development of environmentally sustainable practices.

Barry Baillie, CEO of the CCIA says that the Awards of Excellence recognise caravan and holiday parks, manufactured home villages and estates, caravan and RV manufacturers and dealers as well as industry suppliers for business excellence.

“The Awards of Excellence is the industry’s highlight event which recognises business excellence in the caravan and camping sector and is the highest accolade that a caravan, RV or camping business can achieve.”

Judges were impressed with Gold Coast Tweed Camper and Caravan Hire’s ability to provide additional services for their customers such as offering bikes and tents for hire and the general enthusiasm of the staff.

“Gold Coast Tweed Camper and Caravan Hire is an excellent example of how hire companies are providing a means for travellers to enjoy a unique touring experience,” said Mr Barry Baillie.

More than 200 industry members from across NSW gathered at Cypress Lakes for CCIA’s Awards of Excellence. Staged with a ‘Magical night with the Stars’ flavour, magician Matt Hollywood entertained guests and Frankie J Holden and Michelle Pettigrove were masters of ceremonies for the evening.
